Publications / Projects

One of my passions is working on scientific projects and ideas, primarily in the areas of gaming, e-sports, economics and HR. Here I can show several publications, some in highly rated journals.

Co-founder of lvlup!HR

With our start-up idea lvlup!HR and the idea of bringing e-sports and HR together, we took second place in the ideas competition (innovation prize) 2021/2022 in Schleswig-Holstein - from around 25 participants.

Over a period of many weeks, we developed a concept from an "idea" that we have already been able to successfully test with a "trial team" from Stadtwerke Flensburg GmbH. For this we were allowed to use the premises of eSports Nord, which has a fully equipped e-sports performance center in Flensburg.

Especially in the course of the shortage of skilled workers and the playful teaching of skills, e-sport is a very suitable tool to set new impulses and to position yourself positively on the market and to stand out.

Report of the Viadrina

"From player to founder - Viadrina doctoral student Timo Schöber honored for e-sports start-up

Sporting computer game competitions as a means of personal development. That is the idea behind the start-up lvlup!HR, which Viadrina doctoral student and lecturer Timo Schöber co-founded. On February 17, the e-sports expert and his team were awarded second prize in the Schleswig-Holstein ideas competition. In the interview, he reports on the foundation, his passion for e-sports and his scientific interest in it."

With such tasks, it is particularly important to me that they have a "deeper" meaning. I therefore ask you to refrain from purely economic inquiries, thank you very much.

Co-development: youth protection training

Together with the Schleswig-Holstein child and youth protection campaign and the youth and sports offices of the city of Flensburg, we at eSports Nord have developed a training course on youth protection in e-sports. This training is the first officially certified youth protection training in e-sports.

The objectives of the training include:

Creation of a safe space for children and young people in the club Correct reaction to problems in children and young people, offering assistance Combating political extremism Teaching e-sports as a holistic and cultural phenomenon Basic psychological knowledge for club members
